Cover Story

Posted by in News, The Green Hills of Home

When my publisher, Joffe Books, showed me the cover they’d designed for the eBook version of my romance ‘The Green Hills of Home’, I loved it. The young couple, gazing into one another’s eyes against a rural backdrop looked perfect for my book. Little did I know at the time that there was a real romance going on in the photo being used! A couple of months ago I was emailed by an Italian male model. I suspect this will be the only time in my life I will ever…read more

A Return to Tonnadulais

Posted by in News, Snowed in for her Wedding, The Green Hills of Home

Well once again I’ve been pretty rubbish about updating my blog! But in my defence, December is an incredibly busy month in our house! With two of my boys having their birthdays, as well as the all-important Christmas, it really is pretty crazy! In case you hadn’t seen, at the end of November a novella sequel to my romance ‘The Green Hills of Home’ was released. The story is called ‘Snowed in for her Wedding’, and it was lovely to have the chance to revisit Gwen, John and Tonnadulais again!…read more

‘I Need a Hero’ is Available in Paperback!

Posted by in Amazon, I Need a Hero, News

My latest novel, ‘I Need a Hero’, is now available in paperback! I think it’s been my favourite book to write, so far anyway! It contains more humour than my previous works, and was such fun to delve back into each day. I could often be found giggling at my laptop as my heroine Bronte’s evil cat, Mr Darcy, got up to more of his antics, including attempting to scare off Sebastian Fairfax, Bronte’s seemingly perfect ‘hero’. Thankfully Mr Darcy has better taste than his mistress and he’s more…read more

Posted by in Just Desserts, News, The Green Hills of Home, The Spaniard's Secret Daughter

Sorry for being a bit useless about blogging, but it’s been busy, busy here recently! For those of you wondering when The Spaniard’s Secret Daughter will FINALLY be released, my answer is … very soon! And it will be published by my new publisher, Joffe Books, an imprint of Not So Noble Books, who I’ve just signed a two year contract with. The Green Hills of Home has been relaunched by Joffe Books, complete with an awesome new tag line! Last edits are just being completed on The Spaniard’s Secret…read more

Evil Editing….

Posted by in The Spaniard's Secret Daughter, Writing time

Oh, editing, how I loath thee, let me count the ways….. Okay, maybe I can’t actually make a particularly long list of just what I hate about final edits – it seems to just come down to two basic things: they’re time-consuming and fiddly. I had planned to realise my second romance, ‘The Spaniard’s Secret Daughter’, at the end of last year. The words were pretty much all there, just a little tweaking to do… Well, actually it turned out to be rather a lot of tweaking. And then Christmas…read more

‘The Green Hills of Home’ 99p Kindle Promotion.

Posted by in Amazon, Events, Kindle, Promotion

Starting today, I’m having my first ever promotion! The kindle version of ‘The Green Hills of Home’ is reduced to only 99p on Amazon.co.uk. Some truly amazing authors have been tweeting about the special offer for me – one thing I’ve discovered since becoming part of the ‘writing community’ is now generous so many writers are with their time, and how willing they are to help others with promoting their work. It’s something I really try to do myself, and I’ve found it a fab way to discover some great…read more

Heigh Ho Heigh Ho, It’s Back To Work We Go…..

Posted by in Bookworm Ink, The Spaniard's Secret Daughter, Writing time

After a lovely break for Christmas and New Year, it’s time to knuckle down and get back to some serious writing! It seems I always forget quite how long it takes to prepare for Christmas! I had planned to write ‘properly’ up until about December 20th, but I tend to do most of my writing in the evening when little peeps are asleep. This isn’t really any good when you need the kiddies-out-of-the-way time to wrap all the presents! I endeavoured to fit some writing in during the daytime, but,…read more

Quiet times……

Posted by in Writing time

On an average day I think I manage to get through day-to-day business pretty well – just about keeping on top of the housework, stopping mini people from killing each other and destroying all in their path, and occasionally even managing to fit a wee bit of writing in. It’s only when my four little peeps are out that I realise quite how much extra I can get done without requests for bananas and juice to distract me. Who knew I spent so much time each day building with Lego…read more
